Dogapalooza celebrates four-legged friends and supports Humane Society of Elkhart County
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- It was a pup-tastic time for families and community members at the tenth annual Dogapalooza festival Saturday at Ox Bow County Park.
Hosted by the Humane Society of Elkhart County and Elkhart County Parks, the puppy party raised funds for crucial animal care and lifesaving work done by the Humane Society, especially following the recent intake of 26 animals in one day.
Dogs of all shapes and sizes were able to participate in a 1-Mile Walk or 5K Run, and owners could watch a K-9 demo and dog dancing demo.
"Just like humans, dogs need exercise too, and fresh air, so the park is a perfect place for that. And we really encourage dogs to come to the park. And dog walkers, there's lots of they can have socialization or they can have solitude, right? There are options, and so we just want to encourage that. and so having a dog event is perfect," says Krista Daniels, with the event.
Dogapalooza also featured paw-tapping live music and many dog-themed vendors.
