DIRECTV and Notre Dame Athletics team up to support Ronald McDonald House Charities
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - - The University of Notre Dame and DIRECTV are using sports to help the community.
The "Goals for Good" campaign was created by DIRECTV three years ago as a way to bring more sponsorships within the community.
For every goal the Irish score, DIRECTV is donating $10 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana. Their mission is to support families with children receiving medical care, offering a place to stay away from the hospital.
In the past six months, DIRECTV has launched three community campaigns alongside Notre Dame Athletics— from supporting veterans to helping local families.
Both the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams were chosen for this partnership, not only because of their success on the field, but to highlight and support both men’s and women’s sports equally.
"DIRECTV takes its community initiatives very seriously. We know Ronald McDonald House Charities does as well. If we're just able to put one smile on one family's face for the money with the money that we raised for the local chapter here in Michiana, that's a home run for us," Senior Director of Partnerships and sponsorships for DIRECTV Nick Ammazzalorso said.
CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana Kierstin Eifler calls the campaign a huge support for the organization.
She says funds raised through the campaign will help provide comfort, care and a bit of normalcy for families facing medical crises.
"Having Notre Dame and DIRECTV partner up with us here at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana is so special to us. We're already huge Notre Dame fans. Watching athletics is very easy for us and for us to offer another fun activity for our families to do while their child is hospitalized. That is certainly something that means a lot to us," Eifler said.
