“The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend recently learned of the University of Notre Dame’s decision to convene a special committee to oversee an investigation concerning Rev. Thomas King, C.S.C., and allegations of sexual misconduct while he was a rector of Zahm Hall from 1980-1997. As this is an ongoing investigation, the Diocese makes no comment as to the allegations but can confirm that Fr. King was assigned to Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Lakeville from 1998-2007. The Diocese supports the decision of Notre Dame to conduct an external investigation into these allegations, will fully cooperate with those leading the investigation, and will make its own records pertaining to Fr.
