ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation after finding a man dead inside the back of a semi-truck.

The Sheriff's Office was called to the 16000 block of County Road 18 shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Monday to investigate the death.

Officials said they received a report that someone was trapped in the back of a semi-truck loaded with sand.

When Deputies and EMS responded to the scene, they found 36-year-old John Chupp deceased.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the incident.
