Two men facing charges in the June 7 murder of Kristina Ortiz
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- While the summer months tend to bring folks outside to enjoy all that nature has to offer, nature tends to bite back-- literally.
Mosquitos are out, and these pests can carry disease-- most notably the West Nile Virus, which was just detected in St. Joseph County earlier this month.
The CDC reports that 49 people have tested positive for West Nile, though no cases have been reported in Indiana or Michigan.
Despite the lack of human cases, it's still important to stay on your toes.
ABC57's Jordan Hatfield spoke with Janelle Iaccino with Franklin Pest Solutions about how to stay safe from mosquito bites in the summer months.
