Day Two of the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair gets underway

SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. --Day two of the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair is underway, and while the excitement continues to build, there's one thing on everyone's mind: the weather.

With rain in the forecast, fair organizers are taking extra steps to ensure everyone stays safe and dry. s.

According to Fair Board president Kristen Sikorski-Conklin says safety is a top priority, and fair organizers are ready to ensure a great experience for everyone, rain or shine.

She says as soon as they know severe weather is coming, the quicker they can move people to safety.

She says the fairgrounds have a couple of buildings deemed safe without windows. Organizers will also pause the rides during storms.

Despite the rain, Sikorski-Conklin encourages everyone to attend, saying that the show will go on.

"We have several buildings; our exhibit building is covered. You can go to our barns, go to our show arena and watch the show, our commercial building, with our commercial vendors. The food vendors have permanent buildings. If it starts raining, bring your umbrella, bring your raincoat, but we got some places where you can stay dry," Sikorski-Conklin said.
