One dies in crash involving two motorcycles, vehicle
ELKHART, Ind. – One person has died following a crash involving two motorcycles and a vehicle, the Elkhart Police Department reported.
At 2:42 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of South Main Street and the U.S. 20 Bypass for reports of a motor vehicle crash.
An initial investigation said that the vehicle was northbound on South Main Street, turning left to go east on the U.S. 20 Bypass.
As the vehicle made the turn, it collided with two motorcycles that were traveling southbound on South Main Street, reports said.
The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old man, was not injured in the crash.
The operator of the first motorcycle, a 53-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital and later died from her injuries.
The operator of the second motorcycle, a 53-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This crash remains under investigation.
