12th Annual ’Bears in the Air’ event Dec. 1 at South Bend...
It seems to be the debate of the season, will you be cooking, dining in, or opting for takeout this Thanksgiving?
Well, some restaurants in the area are prepping for massive takeout orders, including The Skillet in South Bend.
With "Turkey Day" a week from today, the question amongst many families is who's cooking what?
But there's a trend of Americans going to restaurants or having their Thanksgiving meal catered.
Some people I spoke to in the area say the increasing price of groceries makes going out to eat cheaper, especially for a smaller family.
One local establishment, Allie's Cafe, is also offering takeout meals for the holiday.
The owner, Betty Sulok, shared her thoughts as to why there has been a trend in takeout orders for the holidays.
“I think holidays mean a lot more to people now than they did in the past, I think people took them for granted, I think because of the holidays now, people don’t want to spend all their time cooking. They want to actually visit, sit down, and talk with their family, spend some time with their loved ones. They don’t want to spend all that time in the kitchen, so they're preordering holiday meals, so they don’t have to spend all that time cooking in the kitchen," said Sulok.
