Convicted sex offender faces felony Child Molesting charge among others

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. -- A 61-year-old LaGrange man is facing charges related to child molestation, being a convicted sex offender at an elementary school, and failing to update his address with the LaGrange County Sexual Offender Registry.

The suspect, Kenneth Griffin Sr., is charged with Child Molesting, a Level 4 Felony, Unlawful Entry by a Serious Sex Offender, a Level 6 Felony, and Failure of a Sex/Violent Offender to Possess Identification, a Misdemeanor, after two different incidents.

According to LaGrange County court documents, on May 22, Griffin was at Topeka Elementary School. Further investigation led to a photo being provided to the LaGrange Police Department, which showed Griffin at the kindergarten graduation ceremony at 1:11 p.m., that day.

On July 21, a separate set of court documents reveal Griffin was accused of molesting a 7-year-old on several occasions.

On July 19, the victim's mother was bathing the child when she noticed the victim's genitals appeared irritated. The victim indicated Griffin had touched them several times.

Also on July 21, it was learned Griffin had failed to update his driver's license with his current address registered with the LaGrange County Sexual Offender Registry. His license was found to have his previous address.
