Construction delayed for new South Bend Chick-fil-A

SOUTH BEND, Ind.—Construction on the new Chick-fil-A in South Bend has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to spokesperson for the restaurant chain.

“While we remain excited about opening a Chick-fil-A restaurant in South Bend, our construction timelines have shifted due to COVID-19 and we do not have exact timing to share at this time,” a company spokesperson said Tuesday.

Work on the planned Chick-fil-A at 3703 Portage Ave. was scheduled to begin in late summer or early fall of 2020.

The company did not say when construction will take place or when the restaurant is scheduled to open.

South Bend currently has a Chick-fil-A located on S. Michigan St. There are two locations in Mishawaka, one inside of the University Park Mall and one on Main Street.
