Community comes together after EF1 tornado rips Bourbon apart
BOURBON, Ind. -- Neighbors say the natural disaster ripping their community apart has actually brought the small town closer together.
Neighbors helped neighbors after the tornado left homes destroyed, and many without power in a matter of seconds.
"We've been through so many difficult times, but our community time after time responds and answers the call. So, we're so blessed. I don't know if you were around on the scene but in the end just an amazing turn out of individuals that just simply say, 'I wanna help, I wanna be there, I wanna give a hug I want to encourage I wanna clean up'. So our community is amazing when it comes to that,” said Jeremey Riffle the Superintendent of Triton Schools after the school corporation pulled through as a helpful hub for the community on Wednesday night into Thursday.
Triton School Corporation is still excepting donations, and plans to reopen Friday with a 2 hour delay.
