City of Elkhart paving streets for a week, starting Monday

ELKHART, Ind. -- The City of Elkhart is paving its streets from Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with different portions of the city being barricaded off each day.

On Monday, Sherman Street will be paved from S. 3rd Street to the bridge before N. Riverside Drive. Clyde Street will also be paved from Sherman Street to Jefferson Street.

On Tuesday, Jefferson Street will be paved from S. 3rd Street to the dead end past Clyde Street.

On Wednesday, W. Lexington Avenue will be paved from S. 3rd Street to Vistula Street, and S. 4th Street will also be paved from W. Lexington Avenue to W. High Street.

On Thursday, the City will return to pave W. Lexington Avenue from Vistula Street to the bridge before N. Riverside Drive and S. 5th Street from Vistula Street to W. Lexington Avenue.

On Friday, the paving will be completed, weather permitting, with S. 5th Street from Vistula Street to W. High Street, and S. 6th Street from Vistula Street to W. Franklin Street.

The City of Elkhart asks that all vehicles be removed from the impacted streets before 7 a.m. and to not return them until after 7 p.m. or until the barricades have been removed.
