NOW: Cassopolis football continues winning season, grand entrance led by Equestrian team

CASSOPOLIS, Mich. -- From their season being cut short in 2024 due to injuries, to where they are now, the state of Cassopolis high school football has done a complete 180 over the last two years in terms of buy-in from everyone including the equestrian team.

Ever since the Cassopolis Equestrian team began the one-of-a-kind entrance featuring real horses galloping the Rangers' football team out in front of their home crowd, the team is undefeated.

For Cassopolis Equestrian coach Danielle Antisdel, the opportunity for a grand entrance wasn't hard to pass up.

"This is a Cassopolis Ranger, so, how cool is it to actually the live mascot on your football field, a live horse, and for our school to allow us to do this," Antisdel said.

Both Horses, Luke and Hollywood along with their equestrian riders, Amrlana Antisdel and Avery Bergen make up the school's Equestrian team, and they are also responsible for keeping the horses at bay on a busy game night.

"I think it's an honor to be able to do that because most people are really strict about their football fields," Armlana Antisdel said. "I think it's really special and even to do it as a team is even more special."

When speaking with Cassopolis head coach Jeremiah lee, he simply said, "winning cures all," and those horses have been a huge motivating factor for the whole team.

The grand entrance proved yet again to be a good luck charm, as the Rangers dominated the Gobles Tigers, 50-12.
