Cassopolis advances and Brandywine falls in regional semis

WATERVLIET, Mich. - It's now getting tougher and tougher to keep the season alive for Michigan basketball teams, as the high school tournament rolls on. However, that also means hardware is within reach.

In Watervliet, both Brandywine and Cassopolis hit the floor in Division 3 regional semifinal games to inch ever-closer to punching their tickets to the Breslin Center.

Brandywine fell 42-33 to Schoolcraft, while Cassopolis ran past Union City 59-29. The Rangers advance to play Schoolcraft in the regional final on Thursday.

In Division 2, defending state champion Benton Harbor survived a scare from Otsego, winning 63-59.
