CASA annual holiday toy drive underway

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The  St. Joseph County Court Appointed Special Advocates program is holding its annual toy drive now through December 4.

Sorella Boutique in Granger is just one of many local businesses taking part in the annual CASA toy drive. Each donated item will go to a kid in need.

Lety Stanton-Verduzco,  a recruiter at the St. Joseph County Court Appointed Special Advocates program, works with kids who are victims of abuse and neglect.

“We just want to make sure that they have something to smile about over the holiday season. It's already been, I think a challenging year for most people, but especially the kids that we work with so we just want to make sure that we bring a little joy this holiday season,” Stanton-Verduzco said.

The CASA program has kicked off its annual CASA holiday toy drive to bring cheer and joy to kids during the holiday season.

CASA is currently taking donations of new unwrapped toys, board games, puzzles, clothes, books, blankets, dolls, and anything that can bring joy to kids ages zero to 18.

“Just think of anything that you know the kids you know in your life, what is it that they would be happy opening up this holiday season, those are the same things that are going to bring joy to our kids,” Stanton-Verduzco said.
