Traffic stop for car going over 100 mph leads to three drug-related arrests

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police reports a trooper made a traffic stop on June 15 around 10:30 p.m. after observing a 2004 Toyota Camry traveling in over100 mph on US 31 in Rochester.

The trooper identified the driver as 22-year-old Liriannys Andrea Munoz Navarro of Newark, N.J.

The passengers were identified as 32-year-old Marilyn Emilia Mendoza Ceballos, also of Newark, N.J., and 23-year-old Gianluca Jaramillo Revelo, of Queens, N.Y.

The report states while interacting with Munoz Navarro, the trooper observed indicators of potential criminal activity and requested the assistance of a K9 unit.

A deputy with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office responded with his K-9 partner Agi, who alerted the authorities to the presence of narcotics inside the car.

Authorities then conducted a search of the vehicle, which resulted in the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, a controlled substance, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Police say there was also a bag of suspected narcotics found in a nearby ditch, which was believed to have come from the vehicle.

Munoz Navarro, Mendoza Cebellos, and Revelo were all taken into custody and taken to the Fulton County Jail.

The suspected narcotics will be sent to the ISP Laboratory for exact determination of the substances.

Munoz Navarro is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony, Obstruction of Justice, a Level 6 Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class A Misdemeanor, Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor, Operator Never Licensed, a Class C Misdemeanor, and Reckless Driving, a Class C Misdemeanor.

Mendoza Ceballos is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony, Obstruction of Justice, a Level 6 Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class A Misdemeanor, Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor.

Revelo is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony, Obstruction of Justice, a Level 6 Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class A Misdemeanor, Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor.
