Canadian man arrested after $1.5M worth of cocaine found in truck trailer in Berrien County

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Sheriff's Office reports on Monday that they received information about narcotics traveling through Berrien County on I-94.

The report states deputies then located the suspected vehicle, described as a Freightliner tractor trailer, and conducted a traffic stop on I-94 for a traffic violation near mile marker 34 eastbound.

During a search of the vehicle and trailer, deputies say 50 kilograms of cocaine was located weighing around 123 pounds.

Authorities say the approximate street value of the substance is $1.5 million.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Sukhraj Singh of Canada, was taken to the Berrien County Jail.
