BUCHANAN, Mich – Buchanan teachers and parents voiced their concerns to the school board of Buchanan Community Schools at Thursday’s meeting.
“Do you as employs feel heard and supported by your board of education and by your Superintendent,” Buchanan teacher Brittany Martin asked.
Both teachers and parents said they are concerned about some of the staffing decisions made, by the lack of communication and the overall climate in the school district.
Buchanan Superintendent Timothy Donahue did not directly address the community’s concerns with ABC57 but he had a prepared speech that he wanted people to hear.
“We’re very pleased with our board of education to create this innovative forum for two way communication between community members and stakeholders,” Donahue said.
The next school board meeting for Buchanan Community Schools will be Monday August 19thwhere both teachers and parents said they hope that a solution to these issues would be agreed upon.
