SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Officers attempted to make a traffic stop near Johnson St. and Bulla St. around 11:43 p.m. on Sept. 11, but the suspect continued driving. One minute later, the vehicle struck an ambulance near Diamond Ave. and Lincoln Way. 

According to South Bend Police, the ambulance was transporting a person to the hospital for an unrelated call, but they were not injured.

The suspect was checked out at the hospital for minor lacerations, and was ultimately taken to jail. There was also a passenger in the suspect vehicle. No serious injuries occurred.
