CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- A section of Cassopolis Road remains closed Thursday following a reported bridge failure just before 5 p.m., Wednesday.

Cass County Road Commission immediately closed Cassopolis Road between Mt. Zion Street and Osborn Street until further notice.

The detour is Mt. Zion Street, Robinson Road, and Osborn Street.

Officials say emergency services and schools were notified.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area out of an abundance of safety.
