Breaking down Notre Dame’s offense: Boise State vs. Arkansas
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame’s offense kept things steady in their 28–7 win over Boise State, but it didn’t carry the same fireworks fans saw the week before in Arkansas.
Quarterback CJ Carr finished with 189 yards and two touchdowns — efficient numbers, but a step down from the 354-yard, four-touchdown performance he delivered against the Razorbacks.
The run game carried the load, totaling 200 yards on 31 carries. Jeremiyah Love led the way with 103 yards and a touchdown, while Jadarian Price added 83 yards, including a 49-yard burst to seal the victory.
Against Arkansas, though, Notre Dame’s offense exploded for 641 total yards, 32 first downs, and touchdowns on all six first-half drives. The difference? Discipline. Against Boise, 11 penalties for 112 yards and failed fourth-down conversions slowed the rhythm and left points on the field.
Wide receiver Will Pauling said the team is focused on execution:
“ There's still a lot of times where we could be better on the perimeter and in blocking and then you’d always like to have more connections and catches in those one-on-one situations.”
Even with nearly 400 yards of offense, zero sacks allowed, and a strong ground attack, the Irish know they have to clean up the penalties and finish drives to stay on their climb up the AP Poll.
