Boil water notice issued for some residents of LaGrange
LAGRANGE, Ind. --- The town of LaGrange has issued a boil advisory for some residents after a water main break in the area.
According to officials, residents in the areas of the 300 and 400 blocks of North Detroit Street, the 100 block of East Lake Street, the 300 and 400 blocks of North Poplar Street, and the 100 block of East Factory Street should boil their water before use.
Residents should boil water or use bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food.
Officials say there is a concern untreated water and harmful microbes can enter your water when the water main loses pressure due to a break.
Water department crews are currently working to repair the water main, but it is likely residents will need to boil their water for the next three to five days. Officials will notify residents in the area when tests show boiling is no longer necessary.
