Bicyclist injured in crash on M-40

CASS COUNTY, Mich.—A bicyclist was injured in a crash on M-40 on January 26, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a crash with injuries on M-40 near Hoffman Street in Newberg Township around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.

On scene, police learned that a red Chevrolet Malibu was driving northbound on M-40 and coming over a hill and David Hutchins, 57, of Jones of was riding a bicycle.

The driver was unable to see Hutchins and collided with him.

Hutchins was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The driver of the Malibu was not injured in the crash.

Police do not believe that alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
