Bicyclist hit and killed in Elkhart Thursday night

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office is reporting a bicyclist was hit and killed on C.R. 7, north of Hallie Road on Thursday night around 9:08 p.m.

According to authorities, a 2015 Ford Escape was heading north on C.R. 7 and hit a bicyclist that was also heading north.

The bicyclist, identified as 37-year-old South Bend man, Morris Williams, was transported to Elkhart General Hospital by ambulance and later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Ford Escape was a 17-year-old girl from Edwardsburg, Mich.
