Berrien County deputies respond to possible drowning

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Deputies with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the St. Joseph River Friday evening near the Jasper Diary Boat Launch on reports of a possible drowning.

Officials say that a preliminary investigation revealed that three juveniles and two adults were on a pontoon boat when one of the juveniles began to struggle in the water.

One of the adults was able to rescue the juvenile, but the adult went underwater and was not located.

The missing individual is a 46 year male Berrien County resident.

The man is still missing. The sheriff’s office will provide updates when they becomes available.
