Beacon Health opens mobile COVID-19 testing clinic

Beacon Health System will have a COVID-19 mobile testing clinic Wednesday afternoon at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.

Tests will be conducted between noon and 3 p.m. on April 15 in the parking lot of the church - 1620 S. St. Joseph Street in South Bend.

Tests will be given to those who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.

They will also provide cloth face masks to those who are tested and family members, while supplies last.

Beacon says their goal is to focus on underserved communities where residents may not seek testing because of transportation or financial limitations. Testing will be given to those without insurance or who cannot pay.

Specific details from Beacon Health:

To receive a test, participants will need to bring a driver’s license or other state of Indiana-issued identification card. Results will be returned via an individual’s preferred method of contact in most instances within 48 to 72 hours. Screening is conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.

  • Please enter the parking lot via St. Joseph Street. Have your driver’s license or state identification ready.
  • Drive up to the clinician for your test (please stay in your car). If you are walking up a clinician will direct you.
  • Exit the parking lot on Dubail Street.
