Arrest made in hit and run on 12th Street in Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - An arrest has been made in a hit and run crash on East 12th Street in Mishawaka Tuesday morning, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

Law enforcement arrested 49-year-old Robert Blankenship on Wednesday.

Blankenship has been preliminarily charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash for his role in the death of 19-year-old Varinder Singh.

Singh was riding his bike in the 1100 block of 12th Street when he was hit.
