19-year-old bicyclist killed in apparent hit and run in Mishawaka

UPDATE: Law enforcement arrested 49-year-old Robert Blankenship on February 14 in connection with the incident.
ORIGINAL STORY:
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Authorities say around 6:17 a.m. this morning officers were called to the 1100 block of E. 12th Street in Mishawaka where they found a bicyclist deceased on the scene of an apparent hit and run.
"When officers arrived, the suspect vehicle had fled the scene, and the bicyclist was deceased," authorities said.
The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team (FACT) was the activated,
The bicyclist has been identified as 19-year-old, Varinder Singh of Mishawaka. According to authorities, he was traveling westbound on E. 12th Street when he was struck.
Preliminary reports indicate that the suspect vehicle was a blue or dark colored Chevrolet SUV.
