Near-record warmth heading into the weekend as highs will flirt with 90 degrees. Saturday could be the warmest October home kickoff for Notre Dame football on record, a forecast high of 87 degrees. The weather is warm and dry; drought continues to worse. Then main concern is for field fires, burn bans are started to be enacted by county governments. The only chance of rain is next Tuesday as a fall front brings cooler weather, finally.
