Annual Thanksgiving Day Run to be held in Niles November 24

NILES, Mich. - The YMCA of Greater Michiana will host the 41st annual Thanksgiving Day Run on November 24 starting at 8 a.m.

This year, runners can choose to participate in-person or virtually. Participants can sign up for either the 10K run, 5K run/walk, or one-mile fun run.

The in-person event will be held at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA, located at 905 N. Front St. in Niles.

The 10K run begins at 8 a.m., the 5K at 8:05 a.m., and the fun run at 8:15 a.m.

“This year, we’re excited to try something new by adjusting the starting times for all three races to better accommodate families and friends attending the event together,” said Jill Haboush, race director and chief development officer at YMCA of Greater Michiana. “This run is truly a family-friendly affair, and we can’t wait to welcome more than 2,000 runners to downtown Niles.”

Virtual participants can run or walk their chosen event anywhere they'd like between November 24 and December 3. Once completed, virtual participants can then upload their event information to an online race platform.

All participants can share their race photos on social media alongside the hashtag #2022TDR.

Registration is $35 per person or $30 per person for households of two to eight participants. The deadline to register at these prices is November 22.

On November 23 and 24, late registration is $40 per person.
