Annual Blasko Family Christmas lighting final holiday season
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Families across the community came together Wednesday night to show support and enjoy the annual Blasko Family Christmas lighting.
Christmas decorations cover the family home every holiday season with the family beginning the decoration process in September.
Once again this year, the Blasko Family is raising money to donate to the Center for the Homeless.
Unfortunately, after 11 years of doing their Christmas lights, the family has announced that this year will be their last.
"There's been a lot of amazing stories, as people are hearing that this is our last year doing it." Said homeowner Phil Blasko. "We just had a lady the other night that was crying to us about it, that she's been coming here with her mom for years. Her mom passed away, and it's the first year that she's come without her mom being here, and it just reminds her of her mom. And so, [for] a lot of people, this is their tradition."
The last day to see the lights will be on Christmas Eve.
More information about the Blasko lights can be found on the Blasko Family Christmas Lights Facebook page.
