Potential data center moratorium moves forward in Starke County
LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. -- LaGrange law enforcement said five people were ejected from a buggy during a crash on County Road 600 West Friday night.
At approximately 10:04 p.m., officials say a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 18-year-old Lavon Hochstetler, was traveling south along CR 600 W at the intersection of US 20.
Allegedly, Hochstetler disregarded a stop sign and struck a five-member Amish family traveling in a horse-drawn buggy.
According to authorities, all five family members were ejected from the buggy. Joas, Marilyn, Michelle and Kayla Schrock were transported by ambulance to Parkview LaGrange.
Geneva Schrock was taken by Samaritan to Parkview Regional Center in Fort Wayne.
Hochstetler was given citations for disregarding a stop sign, speeding, and operating with no financial responsibility.
