Alternating lane closures on I-94 in La Porte County to start soon

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation announced it will have alternating lane closures on I-94, east of the U.S. 20/35 interchange, on or after Monday, August 26.

INDOT officials say I-94 will be reduced to two lanes in each direction through mid-November for a bridge deck overlay preventative maintenance project on Warnke Road over I-94.

Officials say lane closures will alternate so motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns.

INDOT officials encourage drivers to allow extra time when driving in the area and to follow traffic directions carefully.

Motorists are asked to slow down, exercise caution, and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
