A burst of heavy snow is likely this evening. Snowfall rates of one inch per hour are possible, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Travel will be most difficult in that timespan. In total, four to six inches of snowfall is likely for the area, with lower totals to the southeast, but more sleet / ice. This is a quick-hitting system with most of the snow ending after midnight. There will be some additional lake effect snow, Thursday morning. Temperatures fall through Thursday afternoon, lows in the single digits, Friday morning.
This weekend is another mess, with rain/snow Saturday and lake effect snow Sunday, temperatures roller-coaster up ABOVE freezing Saturday, and drop to zero by Monday morning.
Tonight: Snow. Low 22.
Thursday: AM snow showers. High 22.
Friday: Partly cloudy. High 28.
Saturday: Rain/snow. High 36.
