SOUTH BEND, Ind – Searching for what bets to make as Notre Dame expects to improve their home performance vs Louisville?
It's safe to say home games for the Irish aren't the favorites to bet on. In their two home games this season, the Irish were 29- and 28-point favorites and they didn't cover the spread in either of those games.
Coming into week five as the seven point favorites, Tim Murray with Vegas Sports & Information provides a great outlook on Saturday's matchup.
"You look at Marcus Freeman in his time at Notre Dame, and if you take the range of as a seven-point underdog all the way to a seven-point favorite, so that kind of span of 14 points, Notre Dame's 11-3 against the spread under Marcus Freeman. 11-3-1, with the one push being last year against Ohio State. So, Marcus Freeman, while he has certainly struggled in spots as a massive favorite, especially against group of five teams, he's actually fared quite well in this role as kind of a coin toss type of game," Murray said.
"You know, initially I was looking at just a straight under on this game, you know, total around 46 – 46.5 but I pivoted off of that to a Louisville team total under. So that's around 20.5 out there. Louisville's 3-0, but you gotta question who they've played so far to date, Austin Peay, Jacksonville, state, and then last week, they beat Georgia Tech," Murray added.
Tim makes a great point but still decides to stay away from the spread in this game. Why? Because although Louisville scored 31 points in there win vs Georgia Tech, they only scored two touchdowns on offense.
