INDOT hosting public hearing for intersection project at US 35, Johnson Road, and Severs Road

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing Oct. 8 for the proposed intersection project at US 35 and Johnson/Severs Road.

The hearing will give the public a chance to review the features of the project and provide comments on the preferred alternative.

The purpose of the project is to decrease frequency and severity of crashes. The proposal involves modifying the intersection into a hybrid multilane roundabout to improve safety.

INDOT expects construction to begin in 2029.

The hearing will be at the LaPorte County Public Library Main Branch at 904 Indiana Ave. Community members can view project displays and talk to the team behind the project beginning at 5:30 p.m. The presentation will start at 6 p.m., followed by a public comment session.

INDOT will livestream the hearing at bit.ly/US35JohnsonSeversHearing. Livestream viewers may submit comments electronically. A recording will be posted afterward.
