Firm hearing from Dowagiac residents on Hyperscale class action lawsuit
DOWAGIAC, Mich. — On Thursday, residents in Dowagiac had another meeting with the firm representing them in their class action lawsuit against the nearby hyperscale data center.
Many residents expressing their concerns over the noise coming from the nearby hyperscale data center can now enjoy their outside time, but, according to the firm behind the litigation, they are looking for more answers.
Liddell Sheets law firm partner, Laura Sheets, says she received over 100 messages and complaints from homes near the data center.
"These people have been inundated with an unbearable noise 24/7, and unable to enjoy their homes," Sheets said. "So yes, we're looking to get some answers for them about what they can expect to be going on in the future at this facility, what that's going to mean for their community, and we're looking to get them compensation for what they've endured for several years while this company was making probably a lot of money doing so."
Sheets says they will soon be starting the discovery process, where the firm will be receiving documents from the data center on their future plans in Dowagiac.
