Elkhart Police Department Officer arrested with Invasion of Privacy charges

ELKHART, Ind. -- 30 year old Corporal Tyler Koeppel was arrested today by detectives with the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department earlier this afternoon on two preliminary misdemeanor counts of Invasion of Privacy.

Koeppel is currently being held at the Elkhart County Corrections Facility, and the matter is being forwarded to the Elkhart County Prosecutor's Office for review of formal criminal charges.

At the time of the incident, Koeppel was on administrative leave. He was previously placed on paid administrative leave on June 30 pending the outcome of an investigation by an outside law enforcement agency an EPD's Professional Standards Division. He will remain on leave pending further criminal and internal investigations.

Koeppel was sworn in as an Elkhart Police Department Officer in 2022.
