Construction update on section of eastbound lanes of US 30

INDOT

STARKE COUNTY, Ind. -- Paving in the eastbound lanes of US 30 between US 35 and Union Road is nearing completion.

The lanes remain closed as crews are working on guardrails, shoulder corrugations, and temporary striping.

Once complete, INDOT says changes will be made for traffic to switch to one lane in either direction in the eastbound lanes.

This change is currently scheduled to happen as soon as Thursday evening.

INDOT officials say due to the two-way traffic setup on the same side of the roadway, motorists are reminded to use caution and follow traffic directions and speed limits through the work zone.

There will be no left turns from US 30, and drivers crossing or turning onto US 30 should exercise caution.

INDOT stated when the westbound lanes are closed, traffic approaching US 30 on intersecting roads from the north going south should stop in the median to check for traffic before finishing their movement.
