ABC57 sits down with Notre Dame's head football coach Marcus Freeman

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame's Football Season is just two weeks away from beginning and ABC57 got the opportunity to sit down with Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman, to look ahead into the new season about to kickoff.

Freeman said the pain of how last season ended will be fuel for this upcoming 2026 campaign, “Don’t blame not making the playoffs on the committee. Because then you're giving away the teaching opportunity. How do you learn from it if you're blaming somebody else. Because it's not your fault. How do you grow from this. Well, when you say it is our fault, how do you evaluate the way we start the season, how do you get into a position where you can ensure we make the playoffs. So, I think it’s a great teaching opportunity.”

The first fall practice is set for Tuesday, August 4.

The season opener will kick off on September 5, against the Wisconsin Badgers at Lambeau field.
