61-year-old hospitalized after stabbing in Mishawaka

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.-- At around 9:45 p.m., Monday, officers with the Mishawaka Police Department, along with Mishawaka Fire Department personnel, were dispatched to 509 Hubbard Street due to a reported stabbing. 

They located a 61-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. She was last reported to be in stable condition.

The suspect, a 61-year-old man, was still on scene and taken into custody.

Authorities say the stabbing resulted from a domestic dispute.

Police also say a witness was on the scene when they arrived.

The investigation is ongoing, and the stabbing is considered an isolated incident.
