BARODA, Mich - David Mabry is currently being held at the Berrien County Jail after being accused of gunning down a woman he apparently knew on Father's Day.
The 60-year-old from Stevensville, Michigan is now facing murder and weapons charges.
Michigan state police responded to a shooting in the 2100 block of Russell Road in Baroda on Sunday afternoon just after 2pm.
Investigators say a 57-year-old woman was shot and killed while sitting on her backyard patio with her husband.
Mabry allegedly entered the yard, spoke to the couple briefly then pulled out a handgun from his pocket without any apparent provocation and fired a fatal shot at the victim.
There was then a brief struggle between the husband and Mabry then Mabry took off in his vehicle.
Police quickly tracked him down Sunday evening.
As of now the investigation is ongoing but again 60-year-old David Mabry of Stevensville is now behind bars facing murder charges.
