57-year-old South Bend man sentenced to prison for firearm offense

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana reports 57-year-old Dorian Baker, of South Bend, was sentenced to five years and ten months in prison after pleading guilty to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Following Baker's prison sentence, he will have two years of supervised release.

According to case documents, in February, investigators recovered six firearms, large capacity magazines, over 40 grams of marijuana, and a digital scale from Baker’s bedroom.

Documents state Baker has prior felony convictions, including a federal conviction for using a firearm during a drug trafficking offense.

Officials say any one of these felonies make it unlawful for him to possess the firearms in this case.
