UPDATE: Larry Smith has been charged with one count of Child Solicitation as a Level 4 Felony for driving to meet who he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

In the probable cause affidavit released Thursday, Smith allegedly confessed to an officer that he had known the incident was "a set-up", and that the fictional girl was 13 before any sexual conversation began.

Smith was also previously convicted of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor in Starke County.

ORIGINAL CONTENT: ELKHART Ind. -- 55-year-old male Larry Smith, of Waterloo, Indiana was arrested early Wednesday morning for attempting to exploit a 13-year-old Goshen girl.

Smith was transported to the Elkhart County Jail and initially charged with Child Molestation and Child Exploitation.
