44-year-old man injured in Cass County roll-over crash Thursday

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a single-vehicle roll-over crash on Barron Lake Road near White Street in Howard Township around 7:57 p.m. on Thursday.

Authorities' initial investigation shows a vehicle, driven by 44-year-old Oscar Davis III, of Elkhart, was traveling north on Barron Lake Road.

The report states Davis reached down to pick up a pack of cigarettes, looked up, and realized he was in the wrong lane.

Davis tried to correct himself, over correcting, causing him to roll his vehicle multiple times.

Davis was taken to South Bend Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Davis was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
