35-year-old Goshen man ejected from car in two vehicle crash

WAKARUSA,Ind.-- At approximately 7 p.m. Thursday the Wakarusa Police Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a Mercades C30 for moving violations. The driver a 35-year-old man from Goshen, fled at a high speed on CR 40 and SR 19.
The Mercades then struck another car from behind while still traveling at a high-speed on CR 40, east of CR 9. After the impact, the Mercades left the roadway, rolling several times before coming to a stop on its roof.
The driver of the Mercades was ejected from the vehicle. The driver was then transported to the South Bend Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
