2022 Veterans Day events and services
A number of events are being held across Michiana to honor veterans.
Coloma - Students in Coloma Community Schools will host a Veterans Day breakfast on November 11 at 7:45 a.m. in Coloma High School's cafeteria and auditorium. Bristol - American Legion Post 143 will host a Veterans Day dinner on November 11 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the post Veterans get a free meal with proof of service. Community members can enjoy a meal for $10. [more info]
Elkhart - The Elkhart Public Library is hosting a screening of Top Gun: Maverick on November 11 starting at 6 p.m. The movie is rated PG-13. [more info]
Elkhart - A Veterans Day ceremony will be held at Prairie Street Cemetery on November 11 at 11 a.m.

Goshen - Goshen Moose Lodge 836 is hosting a Veterans Day lunch on November 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge, located at 388 Johnston St. The event is open to the public. Lunch is $10 per plate and veterans get a free lunch with proof of service. [more info]
LaGrange - The LaGrange chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host a Veterans Day dinner on November 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, located at 797 N. Michigan City - Geisen Funeral Homes is hosting a dinner for veterans and their spouses on November 7 starting at 6:30 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, located at 1010 St. John Road. Call 219-874-4214 to make a reservation. [more info]
Michigan City - American Legion Skwiat Post 451 is hosting a Veterans Day luncheon on November 11 from 2 to 5 p.m. Lunch is $8 for non-veterans and free for veterans. [more info]
St. Joseph County, Indiana
Battell Elementary School - Battell Elementary School students will perform a Veterans Day program on November 7 at 2 p.m.
Twin Branch Elementary School - Students will perform a Veterans Day program on November 9 at 8:30 a.m. They will also honor the late Congresswoman Jackie Walorski and her husband/their teacher, Dean Swihart.
South Bend - South Bend Elks 235 will host a Veterans Day dinner and ceremony on November 11 from noon to 8 p.m. Dinner is free for veterans. Call 574-233-1139 to make a reservation. [more info]
Beiger Elementary School - Students will perform a Veterans Day program on November 10 at 2 p.m.
LaSalle Elementary School - Students at LaSalle will perform a Veterans Day program on November 11 at 9:30 a.m.
Liberty Elementary School - Students will perform a Veterans Day program on November 11 at 1:45 p.m.
Emmons Elementary School - Students at Emmons will perform a Veterans Day program on November 14 at 1:45 p.m.
Van Buren County
South Haven - American Legion Post 49 is hosting a Marine Corps birthday and Veterans Day celebration on November 11 starting at 8 a.m. A free breakfast will be served to veterans and their families from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and a free lunch will be served from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. [more info]

Elkhart - Veterans get free admission to the Ruthmere Museum and Beardsley House on November 11. [more info] Wellfield Botanic Gardens is also offering free admission to veterans and service members.
South Bend - Veterans, active-duty service members and family can get free admission to the Studebaker Museum and The History Museum on November 11.
South Shore Line - The South Shore Line is giving free rides to all active-duty military personnel and veterans from November 11 to 14. During fare collection, passengers should inform train personnel or their veteran or active military status.
Mike's Car Wash - Free ultimate washes for veterans and active-duty military on November 11.
Meijer - Veterans, active service members, and their immediate families get 10% off in-store purchases at Meijer on November 11. [more info]
Martin's Supermarkets - Veterans can get an 11% discount on all purchases from November 11 - November 13.
Hacienda - On November 11, veterans can enjoy a free large wet burrito from Hacienda restaurants across the area. Bring proof of U.S. service for this promotion, which is good for carryout and dine-in orders.
McDonald's - With a valid military ID, veterans can get a free combo meal from participating McDonald's in Indiana and Michigan on November 11.
Olive Garden - Free meals for active-duty military and veterans on November 11.
Applebee's - Free meals for veterans and active-duty military on November 11.
Texas Roadhouse - Dinner vouchers offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 11 for active, former or retired military members. The voucher can be redeemed in-store through May 2023.
Starbucks - Free coffee for veterans, active-duty service members and military spouses on November 11.
Dunkin' - Free donuts to active-duty military and veterans. The free donut is limited to one per customer and is available in-store only. Call ahead to ensure your location is participating in the offer.
IHOP - Free stack of red, white and blueberry pancakes for veterans and active military on November 11.
Chili's - Free meal for veterans and active-duty military on November 11.
Outback Steakhouse - Free Bloomin’ Onion and Coca-Cola product for all military personnel and their spouses.
Golden Corral - Free meals to active-duty military members and veterans on November 11.
Buffalo Wild Wings - 10 boneless wings and a side of fries for veterans and active-duty military on November 11.
Red Lobster - Free Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, fries and coleslaw between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on November 11.
Little Caesar's - $5 HOT-N-READY lunch combo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 11.
Wendy's - Free breakfast combo from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on November 11 (not available for digital or delivery orders).
