17-year-old pedestrian critically injured in Elkhart crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind.—A 17-year-old pedestrian was critically injured in a crash on May 18.

According to police, around 10:38 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report of a crash with injuries near Jackson at Main.

Officers discovered that a 17-year-old female pedestrian had been hit by a silver Nissan Murano. Officers performed CPR on the victim until medics arrived. The victim was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

According to police, the driver of the Nissan did stay on scene. 

No arrests have been made in the incident.

The crash is under investigation.
