14-year-old taken into custody for gun possession

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A 14-year-old with a handgun in their possession was taken into custody on Monday morning, according to Mishawaka Police.
Mishawaka Police were called to the 400 block of East Broadway just before noon for a report of juveniles looking into cars.
When officers arrived, they located two juveniles matching the description, reports said.
One of the juveniles, a 14-year-old, had a gun in their possession, police said.
The juvenile was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.
How the juvenile obtained the handgun is under investigation.
