13-year-old female ejected from vehicle, killed in single-vehicle crash

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- A 19-year-old female from Three Rivers ran off the roadway in a Dodge Charger Sunday night. Authorities say the vehicle went airborne and one of the six passengers were ejected and killed.

Michigan State Police responded to the single-vehicle crash on M-86 near Shimmel Road on June 22, around 9:30 p.m.

The vehicle was carrying six additional passengers, including a 13-year-old female who was ejected from the vehicle. The juvenile was pronounced deceased on scene.

Authorities say the Dodge was traveling west bound when it passed another vehicle, ran off the roadway and overcorrected before going airborne and rolling over.

While the investigation is still ongoing, speed and alcohol are believed to be a factor in the crash.
